The Indian institute of management at Kozhikode abbreviated as IIMK is a growing institute that offers a wide range of management programs. The institute was founded in the year 1996 in collaboration with the govt. of state of Kerala. The Institute started in the year 1997 with just 42 students intake but has ever since expanded. The number of Training Programs offered here are 26 as per the change in the year 2007-2008. The institute’s faculty comprise of visiting, guest and regular faculties.

The institute has a research centre known as the WTO research centre or the centre for the development of digital libraries (CDDL). The admission to the Post Graduation (PG) programme is done by the qualifying Test that is highly acclaimed now days. The intake has been increased in the year 2009 to 300 students for the post graduation programme.  IIMK works with many colleges and universities such as Technical Institute of India. Real world Experiences are provided to the students through proper industry exposure.

Various academic Programmes offered here at IIMK include Post Graduate program in management (PGP), Executive management education Program (eMEP), Management development program (MDP), Centre of excellence (CEx), Faculty Development Program (FDP) and Research.

To apply for the fellow program in management the candidates must fill the application form obtained by sending a request at Officer In - charge, FPM office, Indian Institute of management, IIMK campus. And attach a demand draft of Rs.300/- payable to IIMK. Alternatively the application form can be downloaded from the website of IIMK and can be sent along with the Demand Draft. The student must enclose 2 references, copies of all certificates, Score card of the qualifying examination (CAT or other).

The students can apply for the following qualifying examinations for the different courses:

* Through CAT : Finance, Accounting and control, Information technology and systems, marketing, OB and HR, Quantitative methods and Operations management, strategic management.

* Through GATE : Information technology and systems

* Through GMAT:  Strategic management, OB and HR, Quantitative methods and operation management.
