Kalpatharu College of Education is run by Kalpatharu Vidya Samsthe and the college is recognized by Government of Karnataka. The B. Ed course offered by the college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education and the college is affiliated to University of Tumkur located at Tumkur.

Course offered:

As the name implies and as mentioned earlier, Kalpatharu College of Education is offering one-year degree course in Bachelor of Education in both English and Kannada medium. The academic year begins every year in the month of December/January and the course is conducted as per the guidelines of Tumkur University. The one year period is divided into two semesters and the duration of first semester is 16 weeks, while for the second semester it is 18 weeks.

Eligibility for admission:

Candidate applying for the college must be an Indian citizen with B. Sc/B.A degree from the University of Bangalore or any other recognized university with 10+2+3 pattern of education. The candidate must have secured not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination and must have studied any of the languages that include Sanskrit, Marathi, Urdu, Hindi, English and Kannada at the degree level. The minimum qualifying marks for candidates falling under reserved category is 45%.

Allocation of seats:

Admission is made by the college based on the marks secured by the students in the Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Government and the intake capacity of the college is 100 students per year.

Facilities/infrastructure:

In order to motivate the students to take part in the physical activities, the college has provided the sports department with several sports materials. In addition, the computer center of the college is loaded with more than 25 computers to offer effective education to the students. Several laboratories like science lab, psychology lab, information technology lab and humanities club, ladies & boys hostel and a playground is also functioning under the college.
