North Maharashtra University is one of the developing universities in India situated in the State of Mahrarashtra. The university was formed in the year 1990 on the 15th of August under the Maharashtra University Act. The university is formed as an affiliating-cum-teaching university. Even though, the university was formed in 1990, its proceedings started from the academic year 1991-92.

The university’s jurisdiction is spread over three districts namely Nandurbar, Dhule and Jalgaon. The university is functioning on its present campus, which is spread over 650 acres only from the year 1995 in the banks of river Girna. The university is imparting education under the faculties of law, social & moral sciences, mental, management & commerce, fine arts & arts, ayurvedic medicine, pharmacy & medicine, eduction, technology & engineering and science.
