Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University came into existence in the year 1991 and the university is popularly called as Bhoj University. It is a public university functioning from the city of Bhopal in the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh and the university offers higher education mainly through distance and open learning. The university got its name in honor of the popular Maharaja of India Raja Bhoj.
The university was established through an Act of the state legislature and the university aims at promotion and spreading of higher education among the underprivileged people. The university for achieving its objects has set up study centres in remote rural areas. The university has established collaborations with a number of institutions like Indian Institute of Material Management, Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, Rehabilitation Council of India, etc…
