Exam Pattern of the PhD in Mathematics Exam
The question paper shall have two parts.
- Part A - Here 10 questions will be given. Out of these, 6 will have to be answered. This part will carry 40 marks
- Part B - Here also 10 questions will be given, out of this 6 ought to be answered. This part will carry 60 marks.
The questions shall come from topics such as:
- Abstract Algebra
- Complex Analysis
- Elements of Numerical Analysis
- Linear Algebra
- Ordinary Differential Equations
- Partial Differential Equations
- Real Analysis
The total marks carried by this paper are 100. Aspirants will have to conclude writing the exam within a period of 3 hours.
