Birla Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute which came into existence in the year 1955. The institute is a deemed university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The university has its main campus located at Ranchi which is spreaded in an area of 780 acres. Mr. C. K. Birla is the Chairman of the institute while Mr. M. O. H. Farook is the Chancellor. The institute offers various undergraduates as well as post graduates courses to its students. The institute is affiliated to AICTE. The institute performs its functions under the control of a Board of Governors.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited for teaching or non teaching positions of Medical officer, Counsellor, Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Electrical/ Civil), Junior Architect, Technical Superintendent, Technician, Laboratory Assistant and Assistant in Birla Institute of Technology. Only eligible Citizens of India can apply for the following posts:

1. Recruitment of Medical Officer:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age less than the prescribed maximum age limit set for the post i.e. 45 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

2. Recruitment of Counsellor:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age less than the prescribed maximum age limit set for the post i.e. 45 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil):
Age Limit: Candidates should have age less than the prescribed maximum age limit set for the post i.e. 45 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

4. Recruitment of Junior Engineer (Electrical/ Civil):
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 32 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

5. Recruitment of Junior Architect:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 32 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

6. Recruitment of Technical Superintendent:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 32 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

7. Recruitment of Technician:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 30 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1800.

8. Recruitment of Laboratory Assistant:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 30 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

9. Recruitment of Assistant:
Age Limit: Candidates should have age in between the prescribed age limit i.e. 18 to 30 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

Application Fee:

All interested candidates are required to pay a non refundable application fee of prescribed amount in the form of a Demand Draft only. The demand draft should be made in favour of Birla Institute of Technology payable at Ranchi. Candidates are required to write their name and post applied for, on the backside of the demand draft.

Application fee for General and OBC candidates: Rs. 1000 only.
Application fee for General and OBC candidates: Rs. 500 only.

How to apply: Eligible candidates should apply in the prescribed format only. Application form should be filled in complete and correct details only. Completed application form should be sent alongwith the copies of required certificates and demand draft of requisite application fee, in a sealed cover or envelope. The envelope containing should be superscribed with the name of the post applied for, and it should be sent by hand (in person) or by speed post only.
