National Insurance Academy-School of Management conducts an admission process for its 2 year MBA program.  MBA program was started in NIA in 2004 through NIA-SOM. NIA has been accredited with Grade A by NAAC and is also approved by AICTE. NIA being a highly reputed institute its MBA program’s students get the best of placement oppoirtunities. It has 75 seats in its MBA program.

Candidates are only shortlisted for the MBA based program of the NIASoM on the basis of their CAT scores. Therefore for admission in MBA program of NIASom, candidates have to appear for CAT. The candidates after been shortlisted have to appear in a further selection process consisting of Essay Writing, Group Discussions as well as Personal Interview after which the final selections are made. The Institute has a very strict and regular manner through which selections are held. Only the best and deserving are observed in the final list of admission.

The Institute offers a major combination of quality in excellence. The campus of the Institute is interestingly designed in order to strike a balance in between the two. The facilities offered in terms of teaching staff as well as infrastructure are great. The Institute even offers a Centralized based Library which offers over 20, 000 Volumes of books for the betterment of the candidates. Apart from these, the Institute also offers great training as well as placement assistance to the candidates who have undertaken the course.

Eligibility criteria:

A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any of the recognized institute with atleast 50% marks in Graduation. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply. These candidates are specifically advised to provide the Certificate of Merit to the concerned authority as and when required within a stipulated date. Failure to undertake such instructions may result in cancelling of the seat of that respective individual candidate.

Selection process:

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT scores. The shortlisted candidates are then called for further selection process consisting of Personal Interview and Group Discussion.  Final selection is based on candidate’s performance in CAT, Interview, Group Discussion, Past Academic Performance and Work Experience.
