Osmania University, one of the oldest universities of the country was established in 1918. Situated in Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, the university offers courses in various fields such as Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Medicine, Commerce and Business Management, Oriental Languages and Information Technology. Structure of Osmania University PhD History Entrance Exam

The PhD entrance exams conducted by the Osmania University are otherwise known as “OU PhD eligibility test”. The exam is for 100 marks and the maximum time allotted is 90 minutes. Candidates need to score a minimum of 30% marks in the test in order to clear it. A relaxation will be given to those students who belong to the backward communities. Final admission will be based on an interview conducted for those candidates who clear in the test.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having a master’s degree in history or related subjects with an aggregate not less than 55% are eligible for the exam. A relaxation of 5% will be given to candidates who belong to the backward communities (SC/ST candidates).

How to apply?

The application form for the Osmania University PhD History Entrance Exam together with the ICR sheet and university brochure is available in the official website of the university, www.osmania.ac.in. The application form costs Rs.100/-. Another alternative method of obtaining the form is by sending a request to the college office asking for the form along with a D.D for Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of   the ” The Director, Directorate of Admissions,

Osmania University” and payable at Hyderabad.”. Fully filled application forms along with a demand draft of Rs.550/- drawn in favour of “The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University” and payable at Hyderabad, payable at Hyderabad. The completed application forms along with the DD must be sent to The Director, Directorate of Admissions, Near University Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500007 on or before the last date of submission.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates are requested to go through the information brochure before filling the form. He/ she must be very much careful while filling the form. Candidates should paste their self attested photograph on the form. Care should be taken that no column in the form is left vacant.
