National Eligibility Test abbreviated as NET is conducted by UGC every year to test the candidature of student to determine the eligibility for lectureship and JRF or Junior Research Fellowship. The paper is conducted in German and the language eligibility is tested in the paper.

Qualifications you need to be eligible for this exam

Candidates who have a master degree in any of the subjects with minimum of 55% from a recognised University or institution can sit for the examination. Candidates who are waiting for the final results and will have their degree in time of final selection can also apply for the examination. Age limit for JRF is 28 years; however there is relaxation in this for SC/ST candidates. There is no age limits for lectureship.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

Questions are of objective type and questions are of equal value. There is no provision of negative marking in this, so it is suggested to attempt all the questions.

Mode of Exam:

Questions asked are required to be answered in an OMR sheet provided.

Format of the exam

Paper contains questions of same pattern and each question has 4 choices to choose the correct choice.

Paper Pattern followed in this paper

Paper of German is of 50 questions in it and all questions have 4 choices to choose the correct answers from it. Each question is of same marks. There is no provision of penalty for wrong answer.

Full Marks for this paper

Total marks which can be scored in this paper are 100 and each question carries same marks in it. Students can score full marks in the paper if they are good in the language.

Timing

Paper is needed to be finished in 1 hour and 15 minute.
