Institute profile: This institute was started in year 1950. It carries research and development work in various fields such as biochemistry and nutrition, food engineering and microbiology, fruit and vegetable technology, sensory science, protein chemistry and technology etc. It also has support departments and good facilities. It also works on projects and solutions and allied technologies.

Job profile: The technical staff members will be required to work on instruments used for food products analysis, work on fermentors, down stream equipment, to work on R&D projects for storage and packaging of food grains, work on training programmes in food technology, prepare estimates and supervise the work etc.

Eligibility: A candidate should be 28 years or below for technical staff in group III (1) and 30 years or below for technical officer in group III (3). Relaxation will be provided as per the rules.

Educational Qualifications:

For technical officer – A candidate must be a graduate in the relevant subject with a B.Sc degree with a minimum experience of 5 years OR M.Sc degree with a minimum experience of 3 years OR B.E/B.TECH with 3 years of minimum experience OR diploma with 6 years of minimum experience.

For technical staff – A candidate should have either a diploma or B.Sc degree with a relevant experience.

No. of posts: There are 29 posts for the officers and 10 posts for the technical staff.

Pay scale: For a technical staff member the pay scale will be Rs9300-34800 plus a grade pay of Rs4200 and for a technical officer the pay scale will be Rs9300-34800 plus a grade pay of Rs4600.

Selection process: The candidates will be called for a screening test or an interview or may be both.
