Bureau of Police Research and Development was established on August 28, 1970 under the Government of India. The headquarters of the bureau is located at New Delhi, India. Mr. Prasun Mukherjee is the Agency Executive of the bureau. The bureau comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The major objective of bureau is to look forward towards the modernisation of police forces. Bureau of Police Research and Development has four divisions i.e. Research Division, Development Devision, Training Division and Correctional Administration.
