Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, Chengalpet
This Medical College and Research Institution is working under the Province of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University. The institution has been recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Medical Council of India to conduct MBBS course and it is permitted to admit a student strength of 150 numbers.
Courses Offered:
The institution is offering MBBS in different fields of medicine like dentistry, radiology & imnageology, anesthesiology, oro-rhino-laryngology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, neon technology, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, general surgery and general medicine. The course duration is five and half years inclusive of Rotary Resident Internship. The institution is also conducting BDS, B. Sc nursing and postgraduate medical courses apart from MBBS.
Course Eligibility:
For getting admission into the institution, the students must meet the following requirements:
• Must have completed their higher secondary education conducted by the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary examination Board or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board.
• The Students should also have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks in chemistry, physics and biology (which includes zoology & botany) in the very first attempt.
• In the case of candidates falling under reserved category like SC/OBC, the minimum aggregate of mark required is 40% within two attempts.
• In case, a student has attempted for improvement examination in any of the subjects he/she can submit that mark if and only if it is the first time improvement examination attempted by the student.
• Above all, the performance of the students in the entrance examination conducted by the institution under the guidance of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University will also be taken into consideration.
Hostel and other facilities:
The institution is providing hostel facilities for the students from other states with ventilated, well-illuminated and spacious rooms. Above all, hygienically prepared food is provided to the students at a nominal cost. Furthermore, facilities like mini theatre & Spa, central store, food court, gymnasium and clubhouse are under construction.
