Shri Balaramdasji Maharaj established Shri Balahanuman Ayurved Mahavidyalaya in the year 1963 and the college is approved by the Central Council of India and the Gujarat University.

Course Details:

As the name implies, Shri Balahanuman Ayurved Mahavidyalaya is an Ayurveda College offering the B.A.M.S course, which stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. The course duration is five-and-half years, which includes one-year of internship. The course is offered in English and Gujarati medium.

Eligibility criteria:

For getting admission into the college, candidates must possess higher secondary school certificate with biology, chemistry and physics subjects. Students seeking admission to the Gujarati medium should have Sanskrit knowledge. Candidates seeking admission must have completed 17 years of age on the 31st of December of the year in which he/she is seeking admission.

Admission criteria:

Admission to the college is made on the basis of the norms specified by Gujarat government and this process is monitored by the government through a central admission committee. Admission is made based on the marks secured by the students in the qualifying examination.

Facilities:

Some of the facilities offered by Shri Balahanuman Ayurved Mahavidyalaya are museum, dining hall, hostel for boys and girls separately, herbal/botanical garden, conference room and library. The herbal garden contains ayurvedic medicinal plants in such a way that students can get practical education.

Shri Balahanuman Ayurved Mahavidyalaya is offering ayurvedic medicine degrees through fourteen departments functioning in its campus. Some of these departments include Department of balaroga which indicates Pediatrics, Department of Prasutitantra & Striroga, which denotes Obstetrics - gynecology, department of Shalakyatantra, which denotes, Dentistry, Ophthalmology and ENT, Department of Shalyatantra indicating General Surgery, department of Panchakarma that indicates Bio-Purification, etc…Totally, 14 departments under different branches of medicine are functioning under the college.
