A.J. College of Education was established in the year 1967 and the college was established for the purpose of meeting the educational needs of the people of West Godavari and Krishna districts. Initially, the college was offering education under the affiliation of Andhra University and after some years, the college came under the jurisdiction of Nagarjuna University. The actual name of the college is Andhra Jateeya Bodhana Kalasala, which is shortly called as A.J. Bodhana Kalasala. Here, the term Bodhana Kalasala refers to college of education.

Course Details:

A.J. College of Education is presently offering B. Ed course under the affiliation of Nagarjuna University. Previously, the college was offering B. Ed course through correspondence by acting as a study center for Bharatidasan and Andhra University. At present, the college is acting as a study center for Indira Gandhi National Open University for B. Ed course.

Facilities at the College:

The campus of A.J. College of Education is provided with several facilities like library, separate study room in the library, biology laboratory, psychology lab, social lab and physical science lab.

Special features of the college:

Right from its formation in the year 1967, A.J. College of Education has produced more than 10000 teachers, out of them 3000 students are women candidates. The college holds the pride of producing Sri Kolluri Koteswara Rao, who was working for the legislative council of the state of Andhra Pradesh for quite a longer period of time. The staff of the college are the first people to introduce reading materials in the local language Telugu, when the college received permission from Andhra University to conduct examinations in the local language. When the college started to offer education as a study center for Andhra University, the staff of the college were allowed to prepare their own study materials for conducting the courses.
