Vivekananda College of Education was established in the year 1974 with the objective of catering to the educational needs of people in rural areas, whose dream is to become teachers. Vivekananda College is affiliated to Mysore University and the course offered by the college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education.

Course Details:

Vivekananda College of Education is offering Bachelor of Education course and the duration of this course is one year. The course includes 10 papers, out of which four are practical subjects.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have completed their graduation in Bachelor of Science or Arts and who have studied any of Sanskrit, Urdu, Marathi, Hindi, Kannada and English and any two out of Economics, Geography, Sociology, Political Science, History, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Education course offered by the Vivekananda College of Education. In the case of candidates belonging to other states, they might have studied any other languages, which are not specified above. The candidates must have secured not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in all three years excluding internal assessment marks and including electives and languages. Candidates falling under SC/ST/PC category must have secured 45% of marks. Even candidates who have completed their Sanskrit Vidwat/Hindi Vidwan/Urdu Munshi/Kannada Pandit conducted by the competent authority formed by the Karnataka Government are eligible for admission to the college.

Fee Structure:

The fee collected by the college is decided on the basis of the norms issued by the Government of Karnataka and the fees depend on the type of seat allotted to the students like government aided seat, government unaided seat and government seat.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates must get through the Common Entrance Examination for getting admission to the Vivekananda College of Education.
