The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University is a private university managed by the Ramakrishna Mission with its campuses in four different cities being Narendrapur, Ranchi, Coimbatore and Belur in different parts of India. Of these campuses, Belur campus is acting as the main campus of the university and another important campus of the university is at the Vivekananda Research Centre, at the ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda at the city of Kolkata.

The university came into existence under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act and it earned the status of deemed university in the year 2005 on the month of July. It offers courses on a wide range of subjects like spiritual heritage, Indian culture, fundamental science education, special education, disability management, rural and tribal development, etc…

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University has specialized campuses in different parts of the nation and the campus of the university at Coimbatore focuses on disability management and special education courses. On the other hand, its centres at Narendrapur and Ranch focuses on integrated rural development inclusive of tribal development and management.
