Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital is situated in Puducherry, just 160 kms. from Chennai. This college is affiliated to the Vinayaka Missions University, located in Salem of Tamilnadu. It is the only college and hospital in the remote region of Kiramambakkam, Puducherry catering to the needs of the people of that area. The hospital has room to accommodate 650 in patients and is the only multi specialty hospital in this region which offers excellent services to the people living in that area.

Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital (AVMCH) was founded in the year 1999 by Dr. A.Shanmugasundaram, Chairman. Earlier it was affiliated to Puducherry University but now it is maintained by Vinayaka Missions University.  It follows the same curriculum as that of Medical Council of India.

Courses offered:

Aarupadai Veedu Medical College offers both Post graduate and Under-graduate courses in the field of Medicine. The college offers M.B.B.S., B.Sc. (Nursing) and Bachelor of Audiology & Speech language Pathology (BASLP). The Post graduate courses include M.D., M.S., and many other certified Diploma courses. Each year it gives admission to 100 deserving students for pursuing higher education.

Campus:

The college campus is spread over 40 acres and it provides excellent prospects for its students with a holistic view. Apart from the remarkable infrastructure, the college has an ATM centre and a STD booth inside the campus for the benefit of the students. The college has devised a unique programme known as ‘In safe hands’ wherein one teacher is assigned to every three students of the batch. The college has a vast library with an overwhelming collection of over 10,000 books and journals.

Eligibility for Admission:

The candidates must have passed 10 + 2 with minimum 50% marks in aggregate having Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology as their main subjects. The qualifying marks for reserved candidates will be 40%. Admission is based on the marks obtained in All India Common Entrance Test conducted each year.

Age Limit:

The candidates who are appearing for test should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December for the year in which they seek admission.
