MBBS is expanded as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery or in Latin it is called as Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae and this course is abbreviated in different ways other than MBBS like B. Med, BM, MB BS, MB ChB, MB BCh, BM BCh, MB BChir, BMBS, etc… Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery are the two degrees to be awarded as the professional degree. Even though, the naming suggests that they are two separate degrees, however in practice they are treated as one degree and are awarded together.
