Jayamatha Engineering College is sponsored by Jaya Educational and Charitable Trust, Nagercoil. It belongs to the group of Raja institutions for which Sardar S.A.Raja is the founder and chairman. This group has 10 professional colleges which include Dental College, Engineering College, Polytechnic College, Industrial Training College and Pharmaceutical College all of which are approved by AICTE. Jayamatha Engineering College is one of these groups and was established in 1995 and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

Eligibility:

The candidates should have obtained a pass mark in higher secondary examination with minimum 60% in aggregate as per the norms of the AICTE. The percentages are relaxed for reserved category students. Diploma holders can apply for first year engineering, provided they got minimum 60% in the final semester. Lateral entry or direct entry in the second year course is possible for the candidates who have passed B.Sc. Mathematics with 60% average.

Admission:

The entire admission procedure is based on the merit list of the marks obtained in the common entrance exams conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu and as per the norms fixed by the Anna University, Chennai.

Placement:

The Placement cell of this college plays an active part in guiding the campus interviews. The main aim of this cell is to provide suitable job opportunities for the students who have secured good marks. Tamilnadu State level placements programs conducts campus interview organized by Anna University. Several big organizations like CTS, TCS, Wipro, HCL, IBM, Infosys, Satyam Computers, Mahindra & Mahindra Company have selected many of the college students during on campus and off campus interviews.

In-Plant Training:

For gaining access on subject oriented matters, training is given to final year students at various companies like BHEL, TNSTC and ISRO and many other public works departments.
