BCA i.e. Bachelor in computer application is a three year graduation course offered by Nalanda Open University where after each year an examination is conducted namely part one, two and three.

Division of the paper:

In part one there is six papers, each containing both theory and practical papers. Theory paper consists of two parts:-A written examination carries 70 marks andassignment evaluation carries 30 marks. For every paper three assignments needs to be submitted out of which best two are evaluated.

Practical papers are arranged either at the study centres or at any other placedecided by the university. Each practical paper carries 100 marks.

Time Duration

Both Theory written paper and practical paper is for three hours duration.

Pattern of examination:

CS610 is an English paper which consists of a comprehension, essay writing and grammar questions like filling in articles, prepositions and correct form of verb is asked. CS611, CS612 and CS62 contains question from networking, operating systems, computer organization and architecture, in short all the core computer subjects. There are a total of ten questions out of which only five is to be answered.CS60 is a mathematics paper and FHS contains question from general civics and Indian constitution.
