The Nalanda Open University offers under graduate, post graduate, post graduate diploma programs as well as regular courses and also provides a number of vocational certification courses. Sociology is a new subject for many students. The subject focuses on social issues such as human rights, colonialism, democracy, communism, fascism, criminology etc. The sociology Part III Examination is entirely a written test. The questions are usually descriptive type. The total marks for the paper is 70 and out of 10 questions a candidate has to choose any five to answer. Each question carries 14 marks.
