North Malda Teachers’ Education B. Ed College came into existence in the year 2008 and the college was established by the North Malda Education & Welfare Trust. It is a co-education non-minority institution and it has entered into agreement with eleven local schools in such a way that candidates doing their B. Ed course with this college can get teaching practice in any of these schools, which would offer the students with great exposure to teaching even before the completion of their B. Ed Course.

Course Details:

North Malda Teachers’ Education B. Ed College as the name implies offers Bachelor of Education course both in English as well as in Bengali Medium with affiliation from the Gour Banga University. In the Bachelor of Education course offered by the college, the following optional subjects are available to the students:

• Sanskrit

• Economics

• Physical Science

• Mathematics

• Bioscience

• Work education

• Geography

• History

• English and

• Bengali

The academic session in the college begins from the month of July every year and ends on the month of June in the following year. This might change accordingly in the case of any new guidelines issued by the affiliating university.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Procedure:

Candidates, who have completed their graduation or post graduation course with not less than 45% of aggregate marks (40% in the case of SC/ST candidates), are eligible to apply for the B. Ed course offered by North Malda Teachers’ Education College. The college follows admission procedure as per the guidelines issued by the NCTE and Gour Banga University from time to time.

Facilities & Amenities offered by the college:

The college offers several educational facilities to the students in the form of geography lab, biology lab, library with wide collection of books and separate reading room, ET Lab, Science and Psychology lab. Classrooms in the college are well-furnished and are airy and spacious. There is also a common room for teachers, women and men students. The library of the college has a collection of more than 3750 books and the reference section alone has nearly 400 books. The seating capacity at the reading room of the college is 50 students at a time.

The total land area of the college is 2670 Square Meter/66 decimals out of which 1767 Sq. meter/19020 square feet is built-in area.
