Malda District is a district located in the state of West Bengal and the district is located at about 347 kms north of the capital city of Kolkata. The district is popular for the production of silk and mango. The headquarters of the district is the city of Malda, which is also called as English Bazar and this city was once acted as the capital city of the state of Bengal. Malda Medical College & Hospital, Malda was incepted very recently and the college offers medical education with affiliation from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences located in the city of Kolkata. The Medical Council of India has approved the college to admit 100 students per year for the MBBS course offered by the Malda Medical College.

Teacher Training College:

Government Teachers’ Training College came into existence in the year 1964 and the college is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education. The college offers B. Ed course with North Bengal University’s affiliation. It is a co-education college and in addition to B.
