Biostatistics is the statistical orientation of biological organisms with highly specialized and modernized method of knowing the biological behavior of those specimens. Anatomy is an important subject in biostatistics which deals with the detail study of the structures and features of living organism. This involves the study of various organs and their behaviors. Anatomy is further divided into two parts, namely macroscopic anatomy and microscopic anatomy.

Paper pattern:

M. Sc in Biostatistics-Anatomy Papers of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University comprises of two sections namely section A and section B. This is completely a subjective type paper. The theory paper is of 100 marks, where 80 marks are allotted to the written paper and 20 marks to internals.

Section A consists of essay type questions. Each questions of this section holds 20 marks. The entire section comprises of three questions from which the candidates need to attend any two. The entire section comprises of 40 marks.

Section B consists of long answer type questions as well as short notes. Each short note holds 5 marks and the candidate need to attempt 4 out of all the given ones. The long answer type questions holds 10 marks each. From the total number of given questions the candidates need to attend 2, which makes the total marks of the paper to be 80. The time of completion is 3 hours.
