Store supervisors are responsible for the smooth operations of a store or distribution outlet. They coordinate and administer the employees of the store to have an uninterrupted flow in the operations. Store supervisors can get employed with merchandise stores, super-markets, retail outlets, Chain stores, etc. Chain stores comprise a central office that is connected to branch outlets.
In such stores, general manager has to coordinate the branch managers of each branch who in turn manages the store supervisors.
