Among the languages which can be taken up for the UGC NET, is Russian. It is a subject for those who have studied it at the Master’s level, and want to become lecturer on the subject or want a junior research fellowship. Though seems uncommon, it happens to be one of the popular subjects of NET.

Qualification:

To be eligible to sit for the National Eligibility Test, a candidate needs to have at least 55% marks in the post graduation, without rounding off the marks. Also, students need to choose such subject which was there in the curriculum of their Master’s degree. If their subject is not on the list of subjects offered by NET, they can choose a subject which is in some way relevant to their course of study in the post graduation. The Final Year students of post graduation can also apply, provided they get their result before the results of NET. For SC/ST candidates the marks limit is lowered to 50%.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

NET Paper II Russian has no negative marking, and the marks carried by all the question is 2 marks each.

Mode of Exam:

NET is not an online test. Students have to mark their answers on the OMR answer sheet.

Format:

All the questions of Russian Paper II are multiple choice type questions. There are no subjective or detailed answer type questions in this paper.

Paper Pattern:

The number of questions in NET Russian paper II is 50. There are no choices in the question paper and thus all the questions are compulsory. Also, there are no negative markings, so it is always better to mark all the answers. One thing should be kept in mind that multiple answers to a question will be treated as wrong answers. All the questions have four alternative answers, with just one correct answer. Each of the questions carries 2 marks.

The total Marks are 100.

Time duration for this exam is 1¼ hours.
