NIOS is the open school which is a golden chance to study for those students who are unable to continue their study due to some circumstances. Home Science is an ideal choice for those who are weak in maths and science and will have an easier to pass their senior secondary examination.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

Students who are appearing in the paper are needed to be class 10 pass from any recognised board or institution. The exam is of class 12 and students must have pass class 11 with no backlogs from any institution or NIOS. Students have to appear for examination in the centre provided by NIOS.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

The paper is of subjective questions and students needed to solve each question individually to get marks, there is no negative marking in the paper, so students can attempt each question.

Mode of Exam:

Paper is a conventional paper and students will have to answer on an answer sheet provided. They should write the question no. before writing the answer.

Format:

Paper is a subjective paper and students will face questions which are divided into 2 groups and Section A is 85 marks and Section B is of 15 marks.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of Home Science consist of 2 sections; Section A is of 85 marks and it contains only compulsory type questions and Section B is of 15 marks and it has 2 questions from which 1 is needed to be attempted.

Marking:

Paper is of 100 marks and these are of descriptive kind of questions.

Schedule:

Paper is needed to be finished in 3 hours only.
