Government College of Education located at Yavatmal came into existence in the year 1968 on the 15th of June and for the past more than four decades of its service to the field of education, the college has been imparting valuable and qualitative services particularly in the field of teacher education. The college has earned B++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore.

It offers pre-service and in-service training and it runs both regular and vocational Bachelor of Education course with affiliation from the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University for regular courses and YCMOU for Vocational courses. The college has made consistent progress in educational as well as other activities right from its inception.

Course Details:

The Bachelor of Education course offered by the Government College of Education under regular stream is affiliated to the Amravati University and it is professional degree aimed at building practical skills of teaching and observation. The course duration is one year and it is offered in Marathi Medium with an admission capacity of 100 students per year. Admission of student to this course is done based on the merit secured in CET examination conducted by Director of Higher Education of the state of Maharashtra.

On the other hand, the Vocational Bachelor of Education course is offered by Government College of Education by acting as the study centre of Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University located in Nashik. The duration of this vocational B. Ed course is two years.
