West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board conducts JECA exam. This joint entrance exam is conducted for admission to Master of Computer Application programmes in government/government aided/private institutions or colleges and universities in the state of West Bengal.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Only those candidates who are citizen of India can appear for the JECA exam.
  • There is no age limit prescribed by the board to appear for the JECA.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board specifies certain educational requirements to appear for the exam. Candidates should have passed in the 10+2+3 pattern or an equivalent. The candidates in their Bachelor’s programme should have studied mathematics and/or Statistics. Those appearing for the final year Bachelor’s exam are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

The question paper pattern for the JECA is mainly objective type with multiple choice type questions. Four alternative choices will be given with one correct answer. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. The exam will have 2 parts. Part 1 is the aptitude test which will be for 100 marks. This will be a one hour paper. Problem Solving, Discrete Quantitative Analysis, Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Comparison are the areas that will be covered in the aptitude test which will have twenty five questions. Part 2 is Mathematics, which will have ninety questions of 100 marks. The duration for part 2 is 1 hour 30 minutes. This part will test the candidates knowledge in areas like Calculus, Algebra, Analytical Geometry and Probability & Statistics.

Application Procedure

Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed form. The application forms can be bought from the Branches of Axis Bank. Each application form costs Rs. 400. Application forms are also available in the office of the board. A request by post can be made by sending a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable at Kolkata / Howrah. It should be addressed to West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, AQ-13/1, Sector – V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 091. The Demand Draft should be for Rs 400 with an additional Rs 100 for postal charges. The filled in application forms have to be sent by speed post. An information booklet will be provided along with the application form.

    m debasis kundu from kolkata……… my problem is still i doing bca from bidyanidhi institute of technology(ptu) final year….. am i able for jeca exam?
