India Post has recently invited applications for the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant in various post offices across the country. Higher secondary education with first class marks is the minimum educational qualification required. Applications can be obtained from regional post offices as well as from official website of India Post. Candidates are required to pay Rs. 50/- as application fees. Fee payment should be done through post offices only. Fully filled in applications along with fee payment receipt should be sent to given address within stipulated time.

Obtaining the Application Form for India Post Office Postal/Sorting Assistant 2012

Candidates who wish to apply for the post of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant in India Post are required to apply in the prescribed application form. Application form can be obtained from regional post offices against cash payment of Rs. 50/-. Apart from this candidates can download the prescribed application form from the official website of India Post. For this, candidates are required to provide their name, email ID, alternate email ID as well as date of birth. Those who have successfully registered for application form will receive system generated application form and information brochure in their email.

Fee Payment and Application Procedure for India Post Office Postal/Sorting Assistant 2012

Candidates can know the status of their application form by providing the OMR Application form number in the official website. Those who have received the application form are required to download it and take a print out. Candidates are required to pay Rs. 50/- as application fee and Rs. 200/- as examination fee. Fee payment can be done with the specific fee Challan that can be obtained along with application form. Candidates are required to pay the fees in any post office. Candidates belong to Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribes, female candidates, and those who are physically challenged are exempted from paying examination fee of Rs. 200/-.

Details of education, address for communication and details regarding fee payment should be provided in the application form as per the instructions given in the brochure. Candidates are required to write down the unique application number on the back side of fee receipt. Fully filled in application form along with fee payment receipt should be sent by speed post or registered post to “The Direct recruitment cell, New Delhi Head Post Office-1100010” within stipulated time. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected without intimation. Eligible candidates who have applied successfully will receive call letters for written examination by post.
