Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bangalore
In the year 1980 late Sri M. H. Jayaprakash Narayan established Dr. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology. He was a renowned educationist and was elected MLA twice. He was a staunch follower of the ideas of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The institute is a grant-in-aid institution under the Government of Karnataka.
Courses Offered: The courses offered by the institute include both graduate and postgraduate courses. They include Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Instrumentation & Electronics, and Medical Electronics.
Infrastructure: the institute has a sprawling campus of 23 acres. It is planning to acquire another 50 acres of land. The laboratories are all well equipped with modern equipments. The printed Circuit Board laboratory of the institute is one of the best in Bangalore University. The library is well equipped with valuable books for the benefit of the students.
Admission and Eligibility Criteria: for admission to B.E/B. Tech course the eligibility is 10+2 from any recognized board and 45% marks in aggregate in PCM and /or Bio.
The entrance test for B Tech / BE / UG / Undergraduate is either KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) or COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka).
For post graduate courses like M Tech / ME / PG / Postgraduate the test is Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by VTU. Score of GATE is also valid for admission.
Placement: there is a dedicated placement cell in the institute which assists the students to get jobs in reputed companies. Many renowned companies visit the campus every year to recruit students.
