Medical Education in Bangalore:

Out of the nine medical colleges functioning from the city of Bangalore eight colleges are functioning under private ownership, while one college was established by the Government of Karnataka, which is also the oldest medical college in the city and the name of this government MBBS College is Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. All nine medical colleges in the city are approved by the Medical Council of India and certain number of seats has been allocated for these colleges for the MBBS course by the MCI.
