The status of deemed is achieved by any institute when the state of autonomous is achieved by the same. These are usually given to highly recognized as well as performing institutes. .

The UGC, began in 1956 by the Indian parliament passed the University Grants Commission Act “to make provision for the co-ordination and determination of standards in Universities and for that purpose, to establish a University Grants Commission.” With this the individual University that were under the encroachment of other centers were now been given the status of being acted independently.
