Admission to MCA course in Pune University is carried out on the basis of common entrance test conducted at State Level or entrance test carried out by the University itself. Admission Procedure for MCA in Pune University

Graduation in any discipline is the basic eligibility required for pursuing MCA course. Qualification must be obtained from recognized University with 50% aggregate score. Reserved category candidates needs to score 45% marks only. Aspirants must have pursued mathematics as a subject either at 12th or in graduation.

Candidates with these qualifications must attend and score well in MHCET to seek admission. ‘The Directorate of Technical Education’ under Maharashtra State Governmant carries out MHCET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. Application can be forwarded via the official web portal of DTE. Application fee for MHCET is Rs. 750/- for open category candidates and Rs. 550/- for reserved category candidates.

Those who fail to attend MHCET or those who get disqualified in the same have another option to get admission to MCA course in Pune University. Such candidates can attend the entrance test carried out by the University itself. One can collect details on the entrance examination from the authorized website of Pune University. Applications can be submitted through online mode after paying a fee of Rs. 575/-.  Reserved category candidates needs to pay Rs. 475/- only.

Candidates who have qualified in either MHCET or Pune University MCA entrance exam can seek admission to MCA degree in any technical colleges affiliated to Pune University. They must visit the official website of the concerned institution and submit the application. From the pool of applications, selection is made on the basis of the availability of seats and score obtained.

Fee structure of MCA in Pune University

In all aided Colleges under Pune University, tuition fee for MCA course is Rs.8000/- per year. One must pay Rs. 20,000/- as laboratory fees for one academic year. This fee is applicable to students of Maharashtra only. Those outside the state will be charged double the amount as tuition and laboratory fees. Foreign students are charged with 5 times the fee of that of students of Maharashtra. Other than this, students must pay separate fees for attending University exams, for University Development, etc.
