The Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) is an postgraduate course for those interested in computer application. The duration of the course is three years. Being one of the most preferred courses amongst the students today, MCA provides the students with lucrative job opportunities.

Bharati Vidyapeeth University is one of the largest universities in India. The university has campuses in various places such as Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, New Delhi, Karad and Sangli. The university was awarded the most prestigious A’ grade by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute provides admission to 240 students in a batch through its five campuses.

Eligibility Criterion

Admission to the course is provided to candidates who have secured a minimum of 50 % marks in their graduate level exam under any university recognized by UGC. Candidates belonging to reserved category need to obtain at least 45 % of aggregate marks in their qualifying exam. Candidates except from BCA/ B.Sc Computer Science background requires higher level of knowledge in Mathematics or Statistics at higher secondary level. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the course.

Entrance Test

Candidates who seek admission for MCA programme are required to appear for the common entrance test (BCAT) conducted by the university. Candidates who are studying in the final year of Bachelor’s degree course can also appear for the entrance test and seek admission for MCA programme. Such candidates are eligible for admission only if they pass all the semesters/years within the given time frame.

The duration of the common entrance test is two and half hours. There will be 200 multiple choice objective type questions carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking in this test. Candidates can expect questions from Mathematics in matriculation and higher secondary level, Logical and Abstract Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading comprehension, Fundamentals of Information Technology and C Language concepts.

Admission procedure

Candidates who have cleared the test will be given admission to any of the five campuses of the University. 15% seats are reserved in each college and in each branch under Foreign / NRI / and merit category.
