Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College for Women is shortly called as APAC (W) and the college came into existence in the year 1970. The college is running under the control of the HR & CE Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu and it is affiliated to the Mother Teresa Women’s University located in Kodaikanal. The institution earned autonomous status in the academic year 2004-05 and B+ status from the NAAC in the year 2002-03. Different departments are functioning under the college of which four has upgraded themselves as research centres.

Placement Cell:

A placement cell was established by the Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College for Women in the year 2005-06 and it regularly conducts various programmes for offering awareness to the students among the happenings in the corporate world. Recently, the cell conducted a two-day programmes in collaboration with the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology, Chennai and Pat Academy Chennai. Nearly 55 students of the college underwent this programme and had gained knowledge on how to face interview, attitude towards progression and placement, methods to face interview, future ambition, etc…So far 26 students were benefitted by getting placement opportunities in textile mails, hospitals and companies.

Career Guidance Cell:

A career guidance cell is also functioning in the Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College for Women as a part of the placement cell and it takes efforts for identifying skills of students and enabling them to improve those skills. The cell offers coaching classes through experts for facilitating students to get horizontal and vertical mobility of educational programme and placement as well.  Professional guidance is offered to the students according to their skill and interest.
