M.V. Muthiah Government College of Arts & Science is a women’s college that came into existence in the year 1966 in the name of M.V. Muthiah Government Arts College for Women and the college was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the district of Dindigul since there was no womens’ college in the district. Initially the college was offering education with affiliation from the Madurai Kamaraj University and later in the year 2003, the college was shifted under the jurisdiction of Mother Teresa Women’s University located in Kodaikanal.

Admissions:

Admission of students to the MVM Government College of Arts & Science is done purely on merit basis according to the quota specified by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Under the special category admission, students with sports background, daughters of ex-servicemen and physically challenged students will be considered for admission. The college is approved with an intake capacity of 20 students to the PGDCA course, 20 students per PG course, 60 students in UG commerce course, 32 in UG science subjects and 40 students to the UG Arts subjects.

Library at MVM Government College of Arts & Science has a collection of more than 43000 books on different subjects. Separate reading room facilitates the students to enjoy a calm study. The library has a number of monthly, daily and weekly magazines. The administration is in the process of converting the library into digital library.
