Bharathiyar College of Engineering & Technology, shortly called as BCET was established in the year 1997 as a self-financing technological institution under the aegis of Sri Balaji Educational and Charitable Trust. BCET holds the pride of being one among the earliest colleges for engineering in the area of Karaikal. The courses offered by the college are affiliated to Pondicherry University and approved by AICTE.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Bachelor of Technology course offered by BCET candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination with 45% of aggregate marks in biotechnology/computer science/biology/chemistry, physics and mathematics. In the case of SC/ST/OBC candidates mere pass is required. For direct entry into the second year of the B. Tech course, candidates must have acquired appropriate diploma with not less than 60% of marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). For MCA admission, candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree in economics/corporate secretaryship with subjects like computer science/statistics/business mathematics/general mathematics or B. Sc Statistics/mathematics. For M. Tech course, candidates must have completed their B.E/B. Tech in production engineering/automobile/metallurgy/mechanical with not less than 55% of marks.

Library at the college:

Library at BCET is loaded with more than 21000 books on technical education, more than 150 international and national periodicals and journals, more than 450 volumes of question banks, 1300 project reports and a wide collection of floppies and CDs.
