Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur) was established in the year 1951 as an education and research institution. The institute aims to provide higher education in the field of engineering, technology and management. The institute has an academic staff of 470 personnel and administrative staff of 2403 people. The campus of the institute is spreaded in an area of 2100 acres. Mr. Arun Kumar Majumdar is the Deputy Director of the institute while Mr. Damodar Acharya is on the position of Director. Initially the institute was established with the aim of training scientists and engineers after India attained independence.

1. Recruitment of Dean:
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceeding degree in any of the following specialization i.e. in the areas of corporate law, Family Law, Technical Law, International Law, Industrial Law, Laws Regulating Formation of Government Contracts, Laws for Intellectual Property Rights. Atleast 10 years of teaching or research experience is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 10500.

2. Recruitment of Professor:
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceeding degree in any of the following specialization i.e. in the areas of corporate law, Family Law, Technical Law, International Law, Industrial Law, Laws Regulating Formation of Government Contracts, Laws for Intellectual Property Rights. Atleast 10 years of teaching or research experience is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 10500.

3. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceeding degree in any of the following specialization i.e. in the areas of corporate law, Family Law, Technical Law, International Law, Industrial Law, Laws Regulating Formation of Government Contracts, Laws for Intellectual Property Rights. Atleast 6 years of teaching or research experience is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 9500.

4. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceeding degree in any of the following specialization i.e. in the areas of corporate law, Family Law, Technical Law, International Law, Industrial Law, Laws Regulating Formation of Government Contracts, Laws for Intellectual Property Rights. Atleast 3 years of teaching or research experience is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 8000.
