Dyal Singh Evening College came into existence in the year 1958 and the college holds the pride of being the first evening college to work under the Delhi University. Later, the college began its functioning in the morning hours as well and the management of the college was taken over the Delhi University in the year 1978 on the 30th of June.

At present, the college is wholly owned by the Delhi University and from the year 1994-95, the college is functioning as a co-educational institution and at present 30% of the total strength of the college constitute women students.

College Library:

The library of Dyal Singh Evening College is functioning from a three-storied building in which library is located in the ground floor. The library has a collection of more than 51,000 books under different disciplines. Resources in the library include current newspapers, subject journals, CD-ROM, Print magazines, CD-ROM, floppy, print, e-books, etc…

The campus has big playgrounds, extensive lawns and spacious lecture theatres to offer the best education to the students. A new academic block has been recently constructed an administrative block with state of the art seminar hall, computer lab, project rooms and classrooms.
