Re: Steps to become an IAS Officer for a Diploma Mechanical student?
IAS refers to Indian Administrative Service and to be an IAS officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC.
Further, the basic qualifications required for appearing in the Civil Services examination are as below :- * You must be an Indian citizen. * Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Further, there is provision of upper age limit relaxation in case of candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms. * You must have completed your bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised university. So, being a student of Diploma in Mechanical engineering, to become an IAS officer, you are required to first complete your Diploma in engineering course followed by a bachelor's degree course and then you need to qualify the Civil Services examination.
