IAS refers to Indian Administrative Officer and to be an IAS officer you need to qualify Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

--> The basic qualifications required for appearing in the Civil Services examination are as here under :-

* You must hold the nationality of India.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is allowed for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Students pursuing final year of their bachelor degree are also eligible.

So being a student of Class 10th you first need to complete your Class 10th academics followed by higher secondary school degree and graduation. Along with your regular academics you need to be preparing for Civil Services examination as per its syllabus as same examination is considered as one of the toughest examination.

To start your preparation you should make habit of going through current affairs and English Newspapers like The Hindu, The Indian Express, etc. . Also, you should go through the NCERT books of general studies subjects from Class VIth onwards.

For more details regarding Civil Services examination you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.
