Can my brother apply for an education loan in Punjab National Bank of Vadodara on my behalf for MBA course?
Dear Sir, my brother is working in Vadodara from last 3 years. I am preparing for various MBA entrance exams and will study MBA soon. I want to take an education loan. I have an account in Punjab National Bank and I belong to Bihar. But my brother also has account in Punjab National Bank in Vadodara so he can apply for an education loan from there?

Education loan taken for siblings or other relatives would not qualify for section 80E benefits.
An individual who has taken loan for higher studies for himself , children or spouse or if they are a legal guardian of individual who has taken education loan can claim tax benefit on an education loan. Thus you can take loan on behalf of your brother. |
