U r having three options:msc, mba, clinical research...this depends on your personal interest..if u r interested in working as a science associate or technician or research in a biotech or pharma companies, teaching, then MSC BIOTECH is ideal for u...wheras mba is linked to managment career, managing research and marketing products, sales administrator ..then u should get qualified in net. I think mba will be better paid than msc and also having more scope as it focusses not only in science but also in bussiness and becoz if u do msc u might also need to do further studies like phd for the good pay.. gud luck ! |

if you want to study abroad then you will have to write exams, for US its the GRE, for UK/EU you will have to look for scholarships to fund your studies, you need to do a lot of research online and apply to places which appeals to you, naturejobs.com is a good place to start with :)
best of luck for the search, hope you have a good masters/PhD |

If u want to go for higher studies then MSc Biotech./Micro. are good options. Please dont go for MBA Biotech. It would be the worst thing which will leave u in a big trouble, u will be considered a distracted person, who is not clear abt his career plan. MSc. in Microbiology is still a good option if u r interested in lab work. M.Sc. in Biotech. after completing your graduation you can do:- MSc. in Bio informatics M.tech in Bio Informatics MSc. in biochemistry Hospitality management moreover fields like nanotechnology,bio-informatics are on boom now a days. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
BIOTECHNOLOGY is booming and exciting field and even scope wise it is good. and after completion you start applying to forensic or other research department wherever it is applical.....
After BSc., those who want to go for research, choose MSc. and then go for Phd. On the other hand, some go for MBA-Biotechnology. Career opportunities for both these courses are good. After doing MSc. Biotech, one can join R&D dept. of any good Biotech company. US is the best destination for Biotechnology. It stands out in the field of research....... There are many R&D company present in India for good research work even you can also opt for U.S as they stands out in the field of research as well as the biotech market. companies like CIPLA MUMBAI ,HiMedia Laboratories in mumbai hire mircrobiologist.. So it is good field with good scope.. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
yes after B.Sc in biotechnology you may go for masters and also for MBA. if you go for higher study with biotechnology then i will suggest you to appear in GATE examination in biotechnology paper. then you will get stipend from MHRDT during your study.
you may go for M.Sc in biotechnology. the scope of M.Sc in biotechnology is very much good in India as well as abroad also. easily you will get good job in pharmaceutical company or in any medicine company. the research field for biotechnology is also very much good. there are so many students doing research in biotechnology after completion their masters in biotechnology. if you like the subject biotechnology then obviously you should go for M.Sc in Biotechnology. but if you feel that you don't like biotechnology so much and also your performance during your graduation is not up to the marks then you may go for MBA study. MBA is totally different study from biotechnology. in MBA you have to mainly deal with management subject and also management job. but the scope and job opportunity after MBA is very much high. easily you will get good and high paying job after MBA. now you should decide M.Sc or MBA according to your interest and performance. best of luck. |

After completing B.Sc Biotechnology you have lots of options. If you want to make your career in the field of research, then best option is M.sc Biotechnology. But if you want interested in the mangement field, then you should go for the MBA course. After MBA in Bio-tech you can get jobs in Pharma companies. So, choose your field as per your interest. Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
there are many other options after biotech, there are jobs in many other companies hiring biotech students for Placements, but for that u must have Training along with Project work from any recognised training institute. U can go in Research and development Field , for this just U.G degree is not Sufficient so first do P.G.
And if you want to do job u can also do that if u think u r getting enough salary, and a good chance . There is no such company who will be giving >10,000/month . U can increase your chance after P.G. u can go in Teaching Line , Phd and for Phd you have to qualify Net. i will prefer you to do M.Sc in Biotech , biochemistry, microbiologyall are Good field dont change it. so i think if u have done ur graduation in Biotech Dont go for Mba Give Contributions To Research And Development field, which will be good for u to prove urself , Bcoz Many MBA students are running behind Job And are not getting job other than salesman or etc unless u Qualify CAT/XAT. So if u can qualify CAT, U can also qualify JNU/JRF these all are for MSC in biotech and wii brighten ur future. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
First of all there is a bad need of self realization and self estimation of yourself. After that you need to categorize your long-time priorities(~5yrs) whether they are required to be fruitful in terms of money or higher studies. M.Sc. in Biotech. can even provide u opportunities in marketing field. Please try to compete for good Universities like JNU, AIIMS, AMU, etc..

Once you clear any of the above examination you can have access to get Junior Research Fellow in any of the Indian laboratories. with jrf you can get around 18 thousand rupee as stipend.
After jrf you will be promoted to Srf, during srf you will be completing you PhD thesis. Based on your research publication , you can apply for scientist positions after you phd. The career options available to you are not too many.
Biotechnology is only an emerging field in our country. There are quite good no. of jobs being created in this sector. But remember preference will be given to BE/BTech in Biotechnology. Then preference will be given to Msc biotechnology holders. So your way in not so easy if you go out for a job search. So you shall focus on studies and go for a PG Course. You can go for a Msc or a MBA degree. This will surely give you some advantage in job market. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
I think that you must go for M.Sc in Bio-tech. Nowadays, everyone wants to pursue an MBA no matter where they are from
-An MBA is better after some work experience. -You can select a teaching career. This is because teachers and lecturers are in short supply. Good ones are even rarer. Since qualified people go for greener pastures like IT and BPO , less people take up teaching as a career . -As a result, today's students tend to mug things up and deliver instead of learning by reasoning. -So, you can select such a career and make a difference to a whole community. -For this you have to finish M.Sc and do M.Phil or Ph.D . Or you can try exams like SLET and NET. But you still have to finish a PG degree. If you finish M.Sc , you will be more focussed in your line. ~Of course u can try for the other career prospects like MBA-Biotechnology. -It is a 2-year programme in management. -Only science stream graduates/ those in their final year of graduation can only apply for this course. -This course gives equal emphasis to both Biotechnology and management. -University of pune, Amity Institute at Noida are the preferred institutes for this course. -After MBA-Biotech, you can join Bio-pharma companies, Pharma companies, Biotech companies, Foods companies, Bioinformatics sector, Agri-companies. |

Yes there is lots you can do after your BSc in Biotech. First of all let me tell you that Biotech is a great field and so you will find ample opportunities if you continue with it. However if you need some change then opt for MBA
After your BSc you can join MSc courses for which you will have to answer entrance tests like JNU or you can also do your MBA by answering CAT/XAT etc So its totally your decision what you want to do. If you love your biotech field then i would recommend you to do MSc in it and later on for additional badge do MBA. So think about it. These 2 are the best career options which you can choose after your graduation |
