Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
Yes there is lots you can do after your BSc in Biotech. First of all let me tell you that Biotech is a great field and so you will find ample opportunities if you continue with it. However if you need some change then opt for MBA
After your BSc you can join MSc courses for which you will have to answer entrance tests like JNU or you can also do your MBA by answering CAT/XAT etc So its totally your decision what you want to do. If you love your biotech field then i would recommend you to do MSc in it and later on for additional badge do MBA. So think about it. These 2 are the best career options which you can choose after your graduation |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
hello friend,
-there are many career oprtions left after pursuing BSc. in biotechnology .. they are job ( on campus or can be recruited by submitting placement papers to different companies ) , MSc. , MBA ,etc.. -I think that you must go for M.Sc in Bio-tech. Nowadays, everyone wants to pursue an MBA no matter where they are from -An MBA is better after some work experience. -You can select a teaching career. This is because teachers and lecturers are in short supply. Good ones are even rarer. Since qualified people go for greener pastures like IT and BPO , less people take up teaching as a career . -As a result, today's students tend to mug things up and deliver instead of learning by reasoning. -So, you can select such a career and make a difference to a whole community. -For this you have to finish M.Sc and do M.Phil or Ph.D . Or you can try exams like SLET and NET. But you still have to finish a PG degree. If you finish M.Sc , you will be more focussed in your line. ~Of course u can try for the other career prospects like MBA-Biotechnology. -It is a 2-year programme in management. -Only science stream graduates/ those in their final year of graduation can only apply for this course. -This course gives equal emphasis to both Biotechnology and management. -University of pune, Amity Institute at Noida are the preferred institutes for this course. -After MBA-Biotech, you can join Bio-pharma companies, Pharma companies, Biotech companies, Foods companies, Bioinformatics sector, Agri-companies, etc. ~ADVICE # you may try any one of the above courses but according to me , you must go for teaching career .. best of luck for whatever you do !!! |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
Hello friend,
As far as bachelor's degree in biotechnology is concerned, it will take you nowhere unless you go for higher studies. More than hundred of foreign firms are planning to enter Indian market to outsource research and development jobs. So obviouslly, there will be huge opportunity for a biotechnologist in the near future. Hence, I would suggest you to stick with your expertise and pursue MSc in biotechnology. But if you are not interested in its technical aspect, you may pursue MBA provided you have all the neccessary knowledge and skills required to go for it. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
After your B.Sc if you want to continue in your field you should go for your Masters in Bio Technology. There is a huge requirement of Bio Technologists in Research, Pharmacy, Food Processing, Chemical & Textile Industry. As such there is no specialised MBA for Bio Technology, but if you are looking forward to work in the management side of these companies, taking an MBA is advisable

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
Dear friend
After completing B.Sc Biotechnology you have lots of options. But i think choice of stream is depends upon your choice and interest. If you want to make your career in the field of research, then best option is M.sc Biotechnology. But if you want interested in the mangement field, then you should go for the MBA course it is also the best option to make your career bright in future. So, if you can do MBA biotech then you can get jobs in these companies like Pharma companies, Biotech companies and food companies. So, please dont worry there are manny option for you after completing your B.Sc Biotechnology. So please choose according to your personal interest. |

Well for persuing M.Tech first you have to complete your M.sc with at least 60% aggregate then you can go through GATE, for persuing it from Best institutes of India. If you will be able to crack GATE with best scores and percentile then you will Directly get JRF Oppurtunity in TOP institute like- IIT' IISC. Besides these if you wont get a seat in M.Tech but in MS then its also will be best option to persue MS, because MS courses are specially meant for exploring career in research. GATE is the best option for you . Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
Hello friend,
After BSc., you can go for Masters in Science where you are interested : like MSc in biotechnology, bio informatics, biochemistry, nanotechnology, microbiology while pursuing MSc, i suggest you to prepare for CSIR , UGC , GATE , DBT, icmr. you can get good books for this competitive examination in book stalls and many good publication are available that may help you not only in your subject but also in logical thinking which in necessary in research fields. Once you clear any of the above examination you can have access to get Junior Research Fellow in any of the Indian laboratories. with jrf you can get around 18 thousand rupee as stipend. After jrf you will be promoted to Srf, during srf you will be completing you PhD thesis. Based on your research publication , you can apply for scientist positions after you phd. After Phd If you are still interested in studing you can go for Post doctorial fellow ship, for the persons who had completed pdf, have access to enter in any lab. if you ask me alternate to this examination , look for Project assistant level notifications in each and every laboratories in India, frequently so that you can have research experience along with stipend that can support financially, while working as project assistant you can prepare for above exams and pursue higher studies. All the best. |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?
Hi,
I hope this will help you- First of all there is a bad need of self realization and self estimation of yourself. After that you need to categorize your long-time priorities(~5yrs) whether they are required to be fruitful in terms of money or higher studies. If u want to go for higher studies then MSc Biotech./Micro. are good options. Please dont go for MBA Biotech. It would be the worst thing which will leave u in a big trouble, u will be considered a distracted person, who is not clear abt his career plan. MSc. in Microbiology is still a good option if u r interested in lab work. M.Sc. in Biotech. can even provide u opportunities in marketing field. Please try to compete for good Universities like JNU, AIIMS, AMU, etc.. After ur PG/UG u can go for following career options- 1. Biotech. Companies- Pharma, Food, Textile, Bakery Industries (QA/QC) 2. Product Executive- provide training to the marketing team. 2. Biotech Publishing Houses- as a Copy Editor 3. Biotech KPOs- require net surfing & communication skills (outsourcing, B2B) 4. Product based Marketing*- Companies marketing Instruments used in Biotech Labs 5. Concept based Marketing*-Cord Blood Banking 6. Counselors/ Dietitians- Hospitals 7. Teaching Assistance along with an opportunity to pursue PhD/M.Tech *Please don't consider this option as a low profile job, for u people now it has been refined and person has to deal with high profile people, Its NOT like MRs..No door to door field work!!!! Best Of Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!! THINK BE4 ATTEMPTING ..... |

Re: What are career options after BSc. BIOTECHNOLGY?

there are many other options after biotech, there are jobs in many other companies hiring biotech students for Placements, but for that u must have Training along with Project work from any recognised training institute. U can go in Research and development Field , for this just U.G degree is not Sufficient so first do P.G. And if you want to do job u can also do that if u think u r getting enough salary, and a good chance . There is no such company who will be giving >10,000/month . U can increase your chance after P.G. u can go in Teaching Line , Phd and for Phd you have to qualify Net. i will prefer you to do M.Sc in Biotech , biochemistry, microbiologyall are Good field dont change it. so i think if u have done ur graduation in Biotech Dont go for Mba Give Contributions To Research And Development field, which will be good for u to prove urself , Bcoz Many MBA students are running behind Job And are not getting job other than salesman or etc unless u Qualify CAT/XAT. So if u can qualify CAT, U can also qualify JNU/JRF these all are for MSC in biotech and wii brighten ur future. |
