Re: After BSc computer science what should I do?
I would recommend that you continue further studies and pursue and post graduate degree in computer related field. If you really want a good job, Post Graduate course is must because B.Sc computer science alone does not mean a bright future.
Now after B.Sc in computer science, your options are limited. You can either further improve your computer skills or take up management or lecturer job. The road ahead completely depends on what exactly do you want to do. Here are some options for you to evaluate and decide on your future. M.Sc Obviously since you hav completed B.Sc in Computer Science the first option which some regard as the best option is M.Sc in Computer Science. After this post graduate degree you can pursue career in the following: hardware & networking VSLI/Embedded Systems Robotics information security Artificial Intelligence Wireless Communication You also have the option to take up the lecturer job by appearing in the UGC-NET entrance exam for the post of lecturer in the central government colleges. MCA The second most popular choice is Masters in Computer Applications. Most graduates find it tough to choose between M.Sc and MCA and often ask about which course to choose between two. My answer is pretty simple. Its all about the field of IT where you would like to work. I have already mentioned the fields where M.Sc in Computer Science is useful. Here are the same details for MCA course. web development hardware and networking database administration software development MBA If you possess good management skills or you are more interested in managerial type of roles then you should go for the Masters in Business Administration course. After MBA you would have great opportunities to work in IT companies. The process of admission in MBA course include appearing in entrace exams like: CAT MAT While CAT is the most preferred choice since it includes top IIMs of India. The only way to appear for Common Admission Test is to have secure at least 50 percent marks in graduation course. Reserve category students are required to secure 45 percent marks. On the other hand Management Aptitude Test is valid in hundreds of colleges in India. Those who either are not eligible for CAT or failed to make the cut should appear in the Management Aptitude Test. |
