Yes, that is correct. You are allowed only 6 attempts.
As per the eligibility criteria:-
You must be a graduate in any stream.
You must be between the age group of 21 to 32 years.
You can attempt the exam only six times till you attain the age of 32 years.

You can visit the website www.upsc.gov.in for more information.

First thing I would like to let you know that to become an IAS ( Indian Administrative Service ) officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

Further, the age limit to apply for the same examination in case of general category candidates is 21 years to 32 years. Also, the maximum number of attempts allowed for general category candidates for appearing in the same examination is six attempts ( provided the candidate satisfies all eligibility conditions).

So, being 30 years old now, you can apply for the Civil Services examination only till your age is under 32 years even your attempts are less than six.

For more details regarding the same examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.

Yes there is an age limit and limited number of attempts in the Upsc examination.
The age limit for a general candidate is 32 years with 6 attempts .
As you have mentioned you can not attempt after the age of 32 even when you have many attempts left.
