Am I eligible for AFCAT flying branch entry if I left Mathematics in my last year of graduation?
My name is Shivi. I want to join Indian Air Force and my aim is to be a Fighter Pilot through AFCAT exam. Can I appear in the AFCAT exam if I did my graduation with Physics and Chemistry and left Mathematics in my last year of graduation (B.Sc.)?

Yes , you can join Indian Air force through CDS examination only. Your age should be less than 24 year.
You have to clear CDS examination which is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. This examination has a paper of Mathematics also along with English and General Knowledge/Science. You have to clear each paper with minimum cutoff declared by UPSC. It requires PCM combination in intermediate to join CDS examination. There is no such criteria to have mathematics in graduation course. |

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year. The minimum academic qualification for this exam is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.
For Flying branch, Bachelor's degree in science, engineering etc is required. You can apply for Ground Duty branch from any stream. The age limit is 20-26 years. Even if you have left Mathematics in final year, you can apply for AFCAT exam in final year. |

You have two ways either by intermediate or by graduation
1)The applicant must either be appearing or have passed 12th with Physics and Mathematics to appear for NDA exam.,in this you hadn't done mathematics then you can not appear for NDA 2) For CDSE, NCC Special Entry and AFCAT candidates must be a graduate,Engineering degree holders can also apply for CDS Examination. This you can appear . |
