Eligibility For IAS Exam The examination which is conducted for selection to IAS is known as the Civil Services Exam conducted by a government body known as the Union Public Service Commission The Civil Services Exam has 2 stages in the written exam and after clearing both the stages you will be called for the final interview round.. The first stage of the written exam is the CSAT which has 2 objective papers and has a common paper for all the applicants appearing for the exam that year.. The second stage would be the Mains exam for which you will qualify if and only if you manage to clear the preliminary exam (CSAT) The Mains consist of 9 subjective papers including your optional graduation subjects as well as English.. I have attached the list of subjects from which you can select your desired subjects for the Mains.. The minimum requirements to appear for Civil Services are : 1) Your age must be within the range of 21 to 30 years.. > there is a 3 year age relaxation in the upper age limit for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST 2) Since you have completed your bachelor's degree from a recognized college hence educational qualification is satisfied.. 3) General candidates can have a maximum of 4 attempts for this exam whereas OBC have 7 attempts.. For details and latest updates visit http://upsc.gov.in all the best.. With Warm Regards Nitz |
