Yes IGNOU is a recognized university so you shouldn't worry about your Graduation and you can apply for IBPS exam.
So don't worry about the eligibility criteria and get yourself prepared for the competition. IBPS conducts exam for recruiting clerks and POs in 21 public sector banks in India. Large number of candidates apply for this exam so the competition becomes really tough and even 1 mark less can affect your selection. Also don't worry about the percentage of marks in Graduation because there is no such limit mentioned in the IBPS notification. Age Limit for IBPS Exam: IBPS Clerk : 18 to 28 years IBPS PO : 21 to 30 years Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates. SC/ST : 5 years relaxation OBC : 3 years relaxation PWD : 10 years relaxation Selection Procedure: -Common Written Exam which will be objective type having questions from sections like General Awareness, English, Reasoning, Quantitative and Computers. There will be negative marking and you have to pass in each section. -If you clear cut off marks in CWE then you can appear for Interview. -Those who have scored top marks in CWE and Interview will get selected. Re: Am I eligible for IBPS exam after completing 3 years degree course from IGNOU
A 3 year degree course from IGNOU is a valid course. You can basically apply for any government exam which requires graduation degree. This rule is also applied for the exams conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Services.
For IBPS exams you should have graduation degree. Even if you have completed graduation through correspondence or distance education, still you are eligible for the IBPS exams. Which means you are eligible for the banking exams by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services. There are two major exams namely IBPS Clerical and IBPS Bank PO. Which exam are you eligible for depends on the marks in graduation. I am writing down criteria for both the exams. IBPS Clerical/Bank PO Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen to apply for it. 2. Must have completed the Bachelor degree course. 3. Should score 60 percent in graduation to apply for PO. 4. SC/ST will need 55 percent marks. 5. There is no marks criteria for Clerical exam. 6. You must have diploma/degree in Computers. 7. Computer Science/IT subject in 12th standard or graduation is also accepted. 8. Age limit is 20 years on lower side and 28 years on upper side. 9. Upper age limit is 31 years for OBC. 10. For SC/ST the upper age limit is 33 years. 11. 38 years is the limit for PWD. |
